Benefits of Deep Conditioning Treatments
You have been offered a deep conditioning treatment countless times. Chances are, you may have passed it up until now. After reading this, you will think twice about passing up a deep conditioning treatment. Your stylist knows what they are talking about when they recommend it!
Deep conditioning penetrates the hair shaft, restoring the natural shine of the hair. Over time your hair gets build up from the environment around you. A deep conditioner smooths the shaft of the hair to give you back your natural shine.
Dry scalp is a horrible thing to have. The itching, scratching and worse - flakes! A deep conditioner moisturizes the scalp, keeping you from scratching and having those embarassing flakes form. Your hair can weaken over time which causes breaking and split ends. The conditioning treatment will help restore the strength to your hair, preventing breakage and split ends.
Coloured hair and, chemically treated hair can get dull and lifeless. A deep conditioning treatment is a major benefit to coloured or chemically treated hair. The treatment will give the colour in your hair a new life, and sometimes make the colour last longer. It will repair damage and any breaking you may have experienced leaving your hair feeling and looking healthy and shiny.
A deep conditioning treatment is a wonderful add-on to your next hair cut. Once a month will keep your hair looking and feeling healthy all the time.

Start Holiday Shopping Early
When the Holidays come, one of our largest obstacles is shopping for everyone. Gift certificates are a great way to overcome this obstacle, it takes the stress of so much shopping away so you can spend time with family and friends. Gift certificates are also a great last-minute gift or for people who are hard to shop for like co-workers, bosses, and acquaintances.

Giving someone a gift certificate from your favorite salon or spa is giving them the gift of wellness and beauty. Most salons sell gift certificates for their best packages which is a perfect way to give someone a day of pampering. It's also a wonderful idea for the person who loves going to the salon or spa to get pampered.

Buying a gift certificate online is very easy! You can buy it in the amount you need, and print it out. Or, you can e-mail it to your recipient if you would like. Gift certificates are wonderful stocking stuffers. Another great way to give these certificates is to print them out on festive paper, wrap them in a small box along with an eye mask, or the person's favorite hair and skin product. It's a nice way of dropping them the hint that they deserve a little pampering.

Perfect Your Brows
Audrey Hepburn's pencil-thin arches, Elizabeth Taylor's natural but groomed brows, Marilyn Monroe's drawn-in look. All of these have one thing in common. They are eyebrows we clamour for on a daily basis. Eyebrow grooming has been a part of beauty for a very long time. Women have plucked, pulled, drawn and even shaved their eyebrows to achieve what is in fashion for the era.
In the 1950's, pencil thin and coloured in was the rage. In the 60's full but very "done" was the look (but, who noticed eyebrows with those eyelashes they wore?). The 70's brought a more natural approach to fashion and the 80's gave us natural eyebrows with a fuller look. When the 90's dawned, fashion was taking a turn along with beauty. One look was not the only look that was "in". Hundreds of looks, styles and trends began to surface.
Today is very much the same. Eyebrows are groomed, thin, thick, full, natural, plucked, waxed and even drawn on with permanent make-up. Which leads us to the question, "How do I get the perfect brow?" First things first. Leave it to a professional. Many Aestheticians will pluck and wax until you get the arches you desire. Be particular about your brows and how you want them. The hair takes a few weeks to grow back if any mistakes are made. Although, you can use a brow pencil for a quick fix.
To figure out what brows you want, use these tricks that the professionals use. This will help you tell the Aesthetician exactly what you would like to see when you are finished. Use a pencil as your guide to figure out how you want your brows to look. Hold a pencil straight up and down at the inner corner of your eye. Does your brow come further then the pencil? That part that sticks out can easily come off to open up your eyes. Now, take the pencil from the outer corner and hold it diagonal. If your brow comes further then that, the end can also come off to keep the eyes from looking like they droop. Your arches are much easier to determine. Look in the mirror at your natural arch. Trace your finger along the arch and, see exactly how much could be plucked or waxed away to create an arch that suits you.
One other way to show your Aesthetician what you want is to colour in the brows you would like with a brow pencil. When you go in, show her the coloured area and let her make suggestions. She will have to take the make-up off but, she will have a good outline to work with.
There really isn't too much trouble to get the brows you want. Waxing takes just minutes once a month. Plucking takes a tiny bit longer and lasts just as long. Either way you decide, you can easily achieve the eye-framing brows you want.

When the Weather Changes
So does your hair. When Fall and Winter set in, your scalp begins to get dry and your hair as well. The products you used in the Summer and Spring that were lighter on moisture should be changed out for products that moisturize your hair and scalp. This will help your hair to remain soft and manageable and, keep you from getting nasty flakes and dry scalp.

If you make an appointment with your stylist, ask them about a deep conditioning treatment that will jump-start your Winter hair care. They will give you a treatment that will give your hair and scalp conditioners and moisturizers to help you keep your hair looking great. Also, ask your stylist for information on at-home care.

Find out what products sold at your salon work best. You may be able to keep your shampoo but, add a leave-in conditioner for the Fall and Winter. Or, a hair mask that you apply once every two weeks. While you are getting your treatment, have a conversation with your stylist about it. Once you get your at-home care and regular conditioning treatments as a routine, your hair will be soft and fabulous for the Winter months!
